Coolant, BTC15 by Abicor Binzel in 5ltr tub – the coolant for all liquid cooled welding and cutting torches, being non conducting, it protects your pump, cooling radiator, torch head and cable assembly from electrolyte corrosion and offers frost protection down to minus 10 degC. It is a very low viscosity and non-flocculate liquid - no electro-corrosion will happen when it is used correctly, though avoid diluting with other liquids or similar products. For welding machines with other cooling liquids, which are already in use, it is important to wash the complete cooling system – inclusive of the cable assembly before using BTC-15 the first time. BTC-15 contents an additive with a lightly lubricating effect for the pump of the water cooler, as well as an anti-freeze additive. The anti-freeze additive can evaporate over time and the freezing point will be reduced therefore the filler neck of the cooling unit and the BTC-15 canister must be always closed firmly. When the coolant is about 6-8 month into use, it is recommended (also before winter time) to empty the cooling system and simultaneously to wash and refill it with fresh BTC-15.
